Dr Hamish Gray MBChB FACS(Orth) FAOrthA

Dr Hamish Gray is an experienced & trusted orthopaedic surgeon working on the Sunshine Coast for the last 10 years. He has a focus on all aspects of hip and knee surgery. He has particular expertise in revision surgery and complex surgery of the hip and knee joint. 

Dr Gray graduated from Otago University in 2000. He obtained his specialist orthopaedic qualification, FACS(Ortho), in 2010.  He then furthered his expertise in lower limb orthopaedic conditions and surgery by doing a number of prestigous fellowships:

  • Computer Navigated Arthroplasty Fellowship in Brisbane, 2010 

  • Complex Arthroplasty Fellowship including revision, rheumatoid arthritis, developmental dysplasia  & Lower limb reconstruction at Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, 2011

  • Paediatric Orthopaedics, Royal Children's Hospital, Melbourne, 2012

He returned to Queensland in 2012 to work as a specialist orthopaedic surgeon. He has worked on the Sunshine Coast since 2014 holding Director and Deputy Director positions in Queensland Health. Since opening this private practice on the Sunshine Coast in 2020 he still maintains an appointment in the public system as a Senior Staff Specialist. Dr Hamish Gray continues teaching and mentoring future orthopaedic surgeons. 

Dr Hamish Gray is the Clinical Lead for Orthopaedics at Griffiths University teaching our local Sunshine Coast medical students.
